Pleasant Pond Vertical House
Tucked into a steep hillside at the northern edge of Pleasant Pond sits this little slice of paradise. The existing structure, originally built as a camp, is going to be removed, foundation and all. In it’s place, sitting on the exact same footprint, will be a new 1 bedroom single family home that aims to reimagine the existing structure in a modern, but very contextualized way.

From the onset of this project, we knew it was going to be important to capture the character of this unique lot as best as we could. Though it’s position in the landscape keeps the lot relatively private, there are still adjacent residences and guests of the recreation that the pond provides to consider when designing the new home. This video really captures the essence of the site as it approaches the structure, and some of the key features of the site we intend to highlight with the new design.
